The early stages suggested a tight multi-car battle, but a moment of contact between Nathan Smith and Jenkins on Lap 2 briefly relieved the pressure, giving Bowler valuable breathing room.

The race took a decisive turn on Lap 5, when race leader N. This opened the door for Michael Oliver and Bowler to capitalise, promoting Bowler into P2.

From there, the pressure returned, with Jenkins closing in and applying sustained pressure throughout the remainder of the race.
